Final Written Part to Portfolio 1
Written Part of Final Portfolio Project
The styles of music that inspired me the most was the EDM and techno music I have listened to growing up. I was looking to create a sound track that echoes its sounds back and forth throughout the 32 bars. It sounds more like elevator music as opposed to the other track I created and thought it would be good Mario Brothers music. This track doesn’t have the strong bassy sound that I am so in love with when it comes to creating and listening to music. I think there are pieces to my 32 bar track that would sound great in a video game. Like the melody and original synth parts. I chose a synth to create the melody with. Overall I enjoyed creating this piece. Starting with the project 2 in my portfolio and ending with a better constructed spacey sound in the end.
The drum tracks are very basic and repeat throughout the music. I didn’t edit the tempo or meter when creating the tracks. The bass track was created form the drums tracks. They were edited to have and send a bouncier method of sound. I always imagine the drums and hi hats in my head and always have that famous “but uhm.” That’s all I think about when creating the drums.
l Am l C l Em l Dm l are the keys I used throughout he tracks. When creating the melody and the harmony parts I tried to make them bounce and echo each other (the tracks). I mixed up the harmony track a bunch to make them jump octaves for a brighter sound. I also made it so the tracks kind of takes turns creating the same jumps and notes.
I created a recording of my ukulele for the audio recording portion of the song. It’s a made up piece I did that I had wanted to edit some more but need help with how to use the program. I couldn’t find what I was looking for to edit the s=track btu it still sound snice at the end of the song where I had place the recording. Kind of like an outro. For the sampler I used the harmony to echo the sounds and create a bigger sound with the sampler. The synth I used the ES E effect. I liked using the alchemy effects a lot throughout my pieces this month. I definitely like the overall sound of echoing that these tracks create together.
I used the EQ’s on the audio recording track and the melody track to balance the sound of the music created. I used delay on the melody track. Also an expander and enveloper on the original audio track of my ukulele.
